The Town of Stony Plain offer's many events throughout the year, with emphasis on family fun, and community engagement. Volunteers, businesses and non profit groups support these events in so many ways, to help create lasting memories and positve relationships with residents and visitors.
*Winterfest consists of Light Up and Family Fest. Winter Light Up (End of Nov.) is a seasonal community celebration that kicks off the holiday season. Takes place downtown Main St, Stony Plain. For 2025 we are also kicking off Moose on the Loose, follow your tracks to your favorite business, for businesses to participate for 24 days of fun. Family Fest is our annual New Year's Eve community celebration. It is designed to be family-friendly, bringing neighbors, friends, and families together to usher in New Year in a warm, fun way.
*The Walking Dead House is a much loved event to add fun to the fall for family's and friends alike. The haunted house that will provide scares and shills for all ages, while also having loads of fun activities. 2025 we are adding a Trunk or Treat for non profits, or business that would like to participate. Also for 5 days leading up to the event there will be a Halloween House scavenger hunt, with participants solving the clues to find the house for a prize.
*Outdoor Movie is free, family-friendly movie night under the stars. The great outdoors and a large screen, such fun for families/visitor's of the area.
*Canada Day Celebration is where we bring cultural experiences, music and entainment for all ages, all while celebrating this beautiful country we live in. Community connection and outdoor summer fun makes for an unforgettable day.
*Farmers' Days is Stony Plain's biggest event of the year, organized by the Town of Stony Plain and Kinsmen of Stony Plain. Annual rodeo & exhibition, parade, Mayor's Pancake Breakfast, Kids Korral are just a few of the multi-day festival opportunities.
*Easter Hunt is a community favorite, where easter themed goodies are hidden in the parks around town for hunt-goers to find. Families love to enjoy the wonderful trails and parks we have in Stony Plain, and many have made it a family tradition.
